I was in the same mind thought and could not make up my mind. So me being me painted one wheel matte black and another gloss black. Put them next to the car and compared. Switched them from front to back just to see a different view and decided on gloss as the matte looked dirty and dull. I too have matte black stripes. Hope that helped.

I was in the same state of mind, but unless the matte stripes are on the sides of the car, the 2 will never be compared. What you will perceive is a much cleaner look of the gloss shine with a profile shot as opposed to a flat...brakedust dirty look IMHO.
Black wheels can still look like spares if the designs are wrong for the car. Again IMHO.

Gloss ... IMO, matt black wheels always look like they are dirty, like they are covered in brake dust.

I think matte/satin black would look good on the black camaros, but I agree, any other color, gloss black stands out nicely.
Mine is all black and I'm considering doing the dupli-color custom wrap "black metallic" paint for the rims. The nice thing is if I don't like it, it can be peeled off and no harm no foul. For me, it's only $50-$70 for enough paint to do all the rims. It's cheaper than powdercoating for around $600 or buying a whole new set of rims/tires. |

Definitely gloss back. You can always have matte black by not washing the rims..

If you powder-coat, you can get any level of gloss you want. I went with a 60% gloss as it was explained to me that is the best ratio to look like a nice, deep black, yet not show every little flaw like a sore thumb.

Personally I would do a satin black finish for color contrast.
