Oil pump in and back in business

Lost my oil pump 2 weeks ago, it happened in my garage during start up. I finally got the car back Saturday.
I had a performance shop so the work figuring they've ripped into tons of LS motors in their time.

They went through everything, said there was no engine damage and we're back in the road.
I was worried the whole time til I got the good news.
So great to be back on the road!

Good afternoon, if you are thinking about making a video presentation, then I can advise you an excellent company, which is very high quality and responsible approach to this case, https://crftvideo.com/ if interested, take a look, this company is not the first year engaged in this, it will easily help you in your case. This office is proven and can and should be recommended.

How bad they get you given what's required to pull the oil pan?

I had same thing happen and had to drive about 2 miles to get off the road. Didn't damage anything but I was using Lucas oil treatment in the oil.

You do not need to remove the oil pan to replace a pump on a LS engine. On a LT engine you do.

Gotcha. Was wondering because I need to replace oil pan seal on my LS3. And for that, I'm gonna have to drop the pan.

I hear ya Glassman66. When my girl was in the body shop , I couldn't stand it. I actually drove by the shop a few nights to check on her.

How often do you see LS engines oil pump randomly fail? Any particular version more prone? LS1 LSA L99 LS3?
A friend had his LS1 fail driving down the road but as one member says that's only 1 data point, this thread makes two...
