The UnBumblebee- MarylandSpeed 2011 Project Camaro

We decided to do a project car this year to bring to Camaro5fest this year. Now that things are getting close, and starting to come togethor, I thought I would do a build journal.

The car in question is our 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS M6. When we do project cars, I like to do what I call "attainable extreme". Something any customer can do, but also unique, and attention grabbing. We have had this car since Sept 09..and I have been wanting to do a build for a while. I had held off because the Camaro market was rapidly evolving, and I did not want to build a car with yesterdays parts. With this car, I also want to unbumblebee it as much as I could while still having a yellow car that did not look silly.

Prior to the build here is what was notable about the car.
- Painted Factory Stripes, Heritage Grille, and Ground Effects
- Rotofab Intake
- Kooks Signature Series Stepped headers (prototype)
- Borla Stinger catback (for GFX cars)

This car made the below HP untuned - (We do three runs to show margin of error)

Now we are not gonna spill the beans on the build up front, you have to follow along.

I decided to start with the body work first since I was most undecided on that.

Poor car looks like it was robbed.

This guy is being retired and not going back on the car. Actually..it is getting mounted in our dyno bay.

Luckily..I found a distant cousin to be a stand in for the role I need.

In case you were curious...it is cheaper to just buy a new deck lid and start over then it is to try and repaint one.

Time for another update...the paintwork is done! The pictures really do not show it, but the paint is a black metallic flake that really pops in the sunlight. All the paintwork wa done freehand.
