Dumb dumb dumb - wheel damage

Like an idiot I finally was confident about parallel parking the beast and rubbed part of the front black wheel away in the curb by my driveway. This happened after son just asked. "Dad, why do you always back into parking spaces?" Now you know ...

Anyway palstidip seems to have restored it and it's a bit hard to see the damage now.

Wahh!

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. I've only had mine since Thursday so, so far so good. Glad the plasti-dip is working out for you! But I can see myself doing something like that too.

Quick question for you. On your wheels where it says "CAMARO" are the edges of the lettering sharp? I snagged my microfiber rag and cut my sponge when cleaning the wheels today. Any suggestions for wheel cleaning? Sorry I kinda feel like I just

I bought a black paint pen and keep it handy. I curbed it doing the parallel parking also and the pen worked good at hiding it.

As for cleaning, the only sharp edges I have are where it is curbed.

It happens....... I suck at parallel parking so I don't unless I really have to lol. At least you were able to do a bit of a touch-up. It helps hide the pain.

The hospital that I work at has ridiculously tight parking garage entrances/exits. I basically have to turn 90 prior to entering or the rear rim catches the curb. Usually not a problem if I'm not really tired. However, I have scraped twice (once post night call, the other at 0445 coming in to round).

I used a professional sharpie to cover it up. It has stuck for a month so far. I know it's there and have to be very close (bending over to look) to see it.

I use these and they seem to work very well - from Adam's Polishes

I've curbed my RS's 20" wheels twice. The second time I did not bother fixing it. lol
I can only imagine how much more the 1LE wheels can get curbed easily.
Sorry to hear it. Don't let it get you down though. It happens to the best of us!!

Don't feel too bad man. That wheel I had that was damaged during shipping? I curbed the crap out of it within a month leaving a McDonald's :( plastidip and a brush at least let me make it black again. I wasn't too horribly upset about that one since its supposed to be replaced anyway. The one that pissed me off was when I scuffed up the driver side front, and tore about 6" of that lip on the tire...not even tore all the way off, it's still connected at both ends, you can just pull on it like a bowstring lol.
I've become a little more aware of the size difference of the car since all that happened...

I went ahead and got the tire and rim warranty my dealer offered just for this reason. Cost me an extra $100 but good for 5 years.
