Customized doors

The first mod i make to my camaro will be throwing butterfly or gull wing doors on it. I want it to look as much like a transformer as i can.

I think the "gullwing" will be a very difficult MOD if there is no top frame on the doors like all the past Camaro's. The butterfly wings wont be that big of a deal. They have kits that don't involve much cutting and allow you to do "normal" door open/close or lift ou then up.

Here is one place that has a video of the automatic kind.

Less than $1500 based on a 2002 Camaro

lambo doors are called lambo doors for a reason.... they go on lambo's.

Those are not Lambo doors. They are Butterfly doors. Lambo doors are called scissor doors. Many vehicles besides Lambo's have lift up doors.

Mercedes, Toyota, Mclaren, Saline, Porsche, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Bently, Nissan, Puegeot all have a car with "Butterfly" Doors

Lamborghinni, Spyker, Alfa Romeo and Bughatti have cars with "Scissor" Doors.

When they are done right they look cool. When you just add an extra set of hings so the door swings out, then up... thats just lame.

Thats the difference between the "Butterfly" and the "Scissor" door

Butterfly = Out then up
Scissor = lift staight up from closed position
Gull = Hinges on top of window frame and lift outward
Canopy = Batmobile and jet fighter
Suicide = Hind oposite normal hinge placement
Sliding = Imagine a minivan

I thought the disappearing car door was the one to remind you not to leave your door open too long on busy city streets like in the "Now what" commercials.

OMG that is so cool, but I am betting the insurance companies would have a field day figuring out the extra cost you gonna pay for "Structual integrety" loss like when the 3rd doors came out on pickups.

normally i would be inclined to agree with you, except lambo doors can and do open straight out, then up or they can open straight up.
