Spring run to Wildcat Mountian from WI state line PICKED A DATE PLEASE READ #1 POST

1st edit ---Added in a roughed out Google map for everyone at the bottom of this post. Just left it blank after Richland Center leaving us plenty of time to either beeline for our homes or kill time and take back roads home. I would figure us to be to Richland Cente by around 4pm.
2nd edit---Scratched off the April date as looks to be to early in the season for most.
3rd edit---CALLING THE OFFICIAL DATE TO BE SUNDAY JUNE 10TH!!! (SORRY FOR THE TYPO OF DATES NOT MATCHING WEEKENDS PRIOR TO THIS)

For those who can't do June 10th I may prerun this on May 12th. The 12th of May could be a rough day unless I get time to rip the bike up prior to that. I will post a few days before I prerun if anyone is interested.

For those just tuning in back to original starting message...

Looking for those that would be interested in a group road trip from Beloit, WI to Wildcat Mountain this spring. Back roads for the most part as curvy as I can find. I make this run often with a group of bikes so a group of cars would be a cool change of pace.

Plan will be to leave Beloit, WI 9am ish get "A LATE" lunch Rockton, Wi. Bring some snacks!!! After running back roads making one stop at the Pewitt's Nest (State Park?) then on to hwy 33/Wildcat mountian on our way into Rockton. We will probalby make a few pit stops along the way as needed to uumm stretch. After Rockton head back south towards Richland Center. Richland center will make a quick stop to decide which way each wants to go home. Pending time of day this will make for either a back roads ride home or hit the main Hwy towards Madison and the Interstate.

For those furture north we could set pick up points along the way.

Thanks guys and gals in advance. I am hoping for a lot of interest.

Sounds like it would be fun. I might be interested. I'd be good with any of the dates above, I would just have to request Friday night off before.

Any plans while up there, or more of just a scenic drive through?

That is an awesome drive as long is there isn't too much traffic. I went through there in September taking the long route to La Crosse.

Not sure that I'd be able to (not that you'd want a Mustang along anyway...). For those of you who can go, I'd recommend this. Just be careful to watch out for the Amish.

I'm in. Working on a day. April could be too early for clean roads for those of us that are sallys about the salt.

Depending on your route plan...

Pewit's Nest near Baraboo is awesome to see:

I'm in. I like the May date the best but June might work too. April is too early as the car will be just coming out of hibernation a couple weeks earlier.

Bevis I would run a similar route that we take to rockton, wi for shawns chicken run. Not sure but I think you have been on bikes before with us on this run. I will try to post up a route we could alledit some time soon. That way if someones got a idea/detour for something cool it can get worked into the plan or a new route figured out all together.

May or june does make more sense for those how care about salt. Hey the massive snow falls we keep getting keep up might get to do it sooner. Lol

Just a senic curvy drive. Couple of stops here and there to stretch legs and look at "stuff". There is a big out door bar and grill that does a huge chicken roast every weekend but might be to early in the season for that located in rockton,wi.

How much lead time will you need to get a Friday off work? That way I know when we need to have a date hammered out.

Wow, I've lived within 25 miles of that my whole life, and never knew that was there. If there are any plans to stop there, I may want to tag along, anyway. Keep me posted.

Easy to drive past. You gotta wonder if a farmer drove off into it to find it a couple hundred years ago.
