Here's an alternative. I went with it. There are some waves but for the difference in price I can live with it.

What color and options did you get on the new ZL1? What was the rationale for selling the '13 ZL1 and the '15 Z28 and then purchasing the new ZL1?

The rationale is I wanted to. I sold the 13 ZL1 because of to many problems with it and the 28 has been for sale since I bought it and I sold it today and knew where this one was so I got a very good deal on it and I bought it.

I have one of these Truecarbon inserts. The finish wasn't the best so I had it clear coated with some automotive hard clear, about 4 coats. It really evened things out and made it look a lot better. Just took these today. The little spots are soap I haven't wiped off yet , took it to the wash.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely give that a try over the Fall. I am basically happy with the insert but it could be smoothed out a bit. Its a tenth the cost of an OEM so I cant complain.
I made new insert screens while I was at it.
I ordered a new water deflector but think I am going to leave it off. I drove in hard rain to the Camaro Fest last month and did not notice any difference with water under the hood. It was as dry as it would have been with the deflector. I like the looks without it.

Love that ZL1 in the grill. I see you have the APR CF splitter too. Looks awesome! How did you decide where to put the supports? I like where you got them. I've seen the close and far apart, at different angles. They look cool, probably not super functional but they do make the car look more race carish.

This one only thing that bummed me out on my ZL1, wanted that exposed insert.
Hunted eBay and Internet almost full year, found OEM for about $1300. Can't say for sure why the painted one bugged me, guess all the research and pics instudied before purchase had it.
found a lot online that had issues, still feel I got lucky on the one I found.

Have a perfect Ashen Grey one if anyone is interested
