I've had a B&M Ripper on my old LS1 from the start. Very useful piece of kit. One aspect was the peace of mind of having the adjustable "stops" that allegedly prevented overtravel.

I see that the shifter design is different on the 2010, and that there are some aftermarkets. Will such a design still be possible?

Tangent: How do the 2 I see available (MTI, Hurst) compare?

Im sure B&M will bring out the Ripper for them. Its what I had in the 93Z and I will wait till its released for this car.

as of right now there are no plans to release a B&M unit for the car unless demand changes

This is the case with the T-56 in my '95 mustang. I did not install the shifter's added stops (at the recommendation of MGW). If not set correctly, they may prevent the shifter from fully engaging resulting in abnormal gear wear or popping out of gear under hard acceleration.

I am no expert, but "stops" on newer shifters are more marketing than necessity.

Just my $0.02.

Any confirmation of this in the 6-speed that is in the 2010 SS? That it specifically has internal stops?

That would help take away an issue/concern. . . .

The tremec transmission does have internal stops. Its all been covered before. There are 3 or 4 aftermarket shifters currently out, one of them has stops I think its ripshift but not sure. It was mentioned in an old thread when a shifter was advertising their product. There is no need for them in this tranny, i have the hurst shifter and absolutely love it.

exactly what is said above. The tremec has internal stops built in.. There is NO need for shifter stops anymore.
