376/480 HotCam
So I have a 2010 Camaro SS. I just replaced my stock L99 with a 376/480 hot Cam. I also added 1 7/8 Kooks long tube headers and 3" Kooks cat back exhaust. Car is tuned. This Saturday will be my first time driving it since I'm out of town right now. I can't wait. Does anyone else have this motor and if so, how do you like it and what else did you add? My SS will be enjoying a procharger next and I do plan on making some good quarter mile runs. Any ideas? Thanks for responding, you are appreciated.

Paint looks amazing! What are the specs of that cam?

Thanks brother. The cam has a 0.525 inch lift on the exhaust and intake side with 219 degree and 228 degree duration so the valves can stay open longer

Yup - that is a beauty of a Camaro. A friend has the 480 "hot cam" motor in his 2010 SS LS3 and it is quick. Very nice sound too, not too choppy.

If you're looking into a Procharger as the next mod, also look into some suspension, wheel and tire upgrades. As it is now, you're never going to get that thing to hook.

I have to agree with DRKS1D3. I cammed my Camaro over the winter and especially if your tires aren't warmed up yet you'll look like a Mustang leaving a car show if you get on it too hard.
That being said, I think you're going to love the car. Don't forget some drag radials or possibly a drag wheel setup for the track. Good luck and post some times when you get back from the track and a video clip of the new mods!

One thing though, I believe the hot cam is not a good supercharger cam due to its tight lsa. It’s 110 isn’t it? I would just rock it n/a as it is.
Oops it’s 112. Do prochargers work well with tight lsa’s?

OP, I would think about your goals for the car. The last thing you want to do is just throw parts at it. You want to come up with a thought-out plan with a combination of parts that are proven to work.

So I had the pleasure of driving my car for a few day before going out of town again for work. It's definitely a different engine than the L99 that I had in it before lol. Very quick on the gas pedal. It did have a bad surge with anything under about 2500 rpm. Had it taken to a turner yesterday. Left the dyno with 422 rwhp and the surging has calmed down a lot. Thus far I am happy with the turn out.

Considering your mods probably had you around ± 360HP (assuming you don't have a CAI installed based on your original post), that's a really nice gain of 60+rwhp from a rather mild cam.
Just to be clear, you swapped the L99 cam for the hotcam or did you engine swap the L99 for the LS376/480? Either way, nice increase over stock!

Congrats. I had the GM Hot Cam years ago in an LS1 Trans Am that I had (Same specs). It gives off a mean chop which sounded great, but did surge a lot until tuned. I remember picking up around 45ish to the wheels with that and a tune.
I'd probably invest in a CAI. It will only help at this point. If you are close to going with a Pro Charger, then forget it, but if that will still be a ways out, maybe look for a used one in the classifieds if you don't want to buy new. I run the OEM Z28 CAI (Which was designed by K&N, and uses their filter), and I couldn't be happier.
