ARH headers and Borla ATAK Catback fitting?
Hi Everyone, I installed a set of headers from ARH (1 7/8" Primaries, 3" Merge Collectors with Cats that narrow down to 2.5") It is basically the Short System that they offer that fits to stock Catback. I replaced my stock catback with the Borla ATAK Catback. The sound is amazing but I am a bit concerned with the fitment.
After I installed everything I noticed that the Borla Catback was sitting lower than the stock one was, therefore I could not put back that black metal frame that has 4 screws that act as a safety in case the catback falls. I initially installed it but it causes a lot of vibration inside of the car. Has anyone experienced this issue with upgrading the exhaust using this setup or any other catback ? Thanks, |

You have to loosen the clamps to the axle-back and the connections to the mid pipes and have someone push up (very hard) while you clamp and tighten even thing down. You have to push it back up into the exhaust well to get it to sit right.

Just like DHSS said, usually if you loosen up the connection point of both systems you can push up on them and tighten it back up.

But won't it rattled against the plate he's talking about or will there be enough clearance?

I tried pushing it upward, but I installed it by myself. I will jack the car up again and have someone help me and see where that takes me.
I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks, |

It depends on how much room he needs for clearance of the piece. To be honest if the only point of the bracket is to prevent the catback from falling, I wouldn't worry about putting it back on.

Hi Josh,
Thanks for the help, I just talked to Mike and he said I should have gotten some spacers for this bracket with the ARH header kit, I never did so he is shipping them for me. I guess I will try to push them upward as much as I can and see if that gives me enough clearance even with the spacers. Thanks, Appreciate the help. |
