Ring and Pinion Install price

I was just curious how much it cost to install some ring and pinions ( trying to figure out all pricing).

Or is it pretty easy to do on your own? If not where in Oklahoma would be able to install them?

This requires special tools and experience. Definitely not for amateurs (like me!).

I think I paid about $600 for the labor ($500-$600 seems to be the average I've seen). That was many trouble free and quiet miles ago.

I just took mine to a local transmission shop with a good reputation and told'em I neede their best guy cause my car was nearly new and I would be a major whining pain if they messed it up! It worked.

Wow I kinda thought the labor would be cheaper than that.

The going rate to swap out the gear set for a diff already out of the car is $150 - 200. The going rate to remove and the replace the diff (remove the diff free to open it up to do the gear swap and then put it back in once the gears are set up) ranges $300 - 400. So the total labor could be $600 if you do no labor yourself.
