I got a K&N Typhoon because I wanted a polished tube and wanted to go with a well know reputable company. Plus I got it for $175. I do not like the look of the CAI, I like the filter exposed not in a covered box.

Thanks man

Initial impressions are positive. Sounds a bit louder and feels slightly more responsive. Now I'll be getting a Magnaflow X-Pipe and a muffler delete. Then it'll finally wake up a bit

Only 1 mention of injen, even though it "won" the comparison done by Jannety Racing?

For the V6 Camaro the Injen does produce solid results. For the SS the Injen is not as effective, especially in more extensively modified cars.

No issues w/ my K&N. Went with the plastic tube. Love it, nice growl.

exactly why i got CAI. IMO, why pay a couple hundred for something that gives little to no gains (some did IIRC), when for a bit more, you get one with proven results (that are better than the others). as for the look...yep, i dont care for it personally. but you know how many times I've looked at it....oh about 3x, lol...i dont sit there and look at my engine all day, but i do sit behind the wheel and drive it every day, so results mattered more to me.

K & N makes a great product. I have had them on every vehicle I have owned and have never had an issue! Plus they look fantastic!! Don't mind the heater hoses...they aren't there anymore...

I have both. K&N on my truck and a CAI on my Camaro. Owning and comparing both I have to say CAI all the way. Ease of installation, positive seal via the lid, insulated box and tube, sharp looks, gains backed by Jannetty results. Really happy with my CAI.

Since the OP was specific as to the two intakes on his mind, CAI would be my pick.

Thanks in advance!
Just to clarify, the finish on the intake tube is not chrome. The tube is aluminum with a high luster ceramic coating inside and out (the ceramic acts as a heat barrier to keep the intake air as cool as possible.) The black powdercoat is more because it sill gets the ceramic coating as well as the additional powder coat. Hope this helps!

Also, be sure to check out our website, there is a lot of good info on there as well as some informative videos!
