Does this helmet work for Autocross?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003B68B92

Not looking to break the bank...it's Snell M2005 rated. The events I will do are mostly SCCA.

Is it ok to go with a helmet like this that is cheaper? I'm only looking to do this a few times a year.

depends on the track. From the track I go to:
"must have Snell SA2000, M2000, SA2005, M2005, SA2010, M2010 OR SF1 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1A, 41.2A OR 41.1/2005 helmet. "

edit: sorry, realized this is autocross, but my advice is just check with the organization running the auto-x

M2010 spec helmets are allowed by the SCCA.

All of the Auto-X events I've done, only about 4, they have never inspected my helmet. I'll also say that I have run an SCCA event either. I've heard they are more strict.

That being said, I personally like open faced helmets better for inside a car.

To ensure you can drive on any track in future, get a Snell 2010 helmet. While Snell 2005 helmets are acceptable right now, when the next level (2015?) comes out, those will not accepted. In my clubs Snell 2000 are no good.

If you click the second link I posted, which I ordered...it's a Snell M2010.

It says order is complete, so hopefully that means it shipped, I want it for next weekend.
