Wondering how it went with Geico?
My friend's son had his Cobalt totalled with a lot less front end damage than that. Then again, the Cobalt wasn't a $30,000+ car.

I took a look at the Heritage Grill DIY (gives a better view of behind the front fascia) and it appears while your radiator isnt damaged the front support could be. From what I can see the support runs or is part of the chassis frame. This being tweaked could cause some serious issues. I still dont think the car is totalled as I have seen some amazing things done with far worse off cars BUT I would be very cautious moving forward in the process. Inspect, verify, and review everything before signing off on anything.
Good luck and sorry this happened to you. Cheers K |

That looks totalled to me. Insurance will probably total it after they dig into it. Good luck.
Insurance tried to fix a truck of mine years ago after I got hit by a drunk driver. had 13k in damage according to them and they were going to take all parts off the exsisting truck and put them on a new frame, and replace the hood, fenders etc. I said no way, they totalled it and I got as much as I had paid for the truck 3 years prior. |

Forget anything the ins wrote up, get it too a GM dealer that you trust to do the repairs. Then call Geico goofs tell them the car is where it will be repaired and that they can hammer it out with the body shop, the numbers will be alot more realistic than the cheap out sign it now appraisial. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING from the Geico until a realistic estimate is done by the people who will actually be doing the repair.

It always comes out to more money when you get the OEM parts guy involved. I had one of those Honda elite scooters when I was a kid and my friend (not any longer) drove it into a parked car. Did some front end damage. After going to honda parts department the parts ended up costing like $900. Thats almost how much the scooter cost and that was back in 1985. I was in shock.
Dem parts add UP.
