Ok. I have decided to buy "Heavy Duty Floor Jack 3 Ton Low Profile Steel" from harbor freight. What do think and what will be the effective guide (I found here few good jack list)to finding the best floor jack? Any personal opinion about HF? This is 4 years old post thus I am asking.. what is their opinion in 2017?

I have been using mine for over 4 years. Still use Jack stands when I am under the car.

Always use jack stands, it takes no time at all to set them up and you prevent huge issues if the jack fails

I use 2 sets of jack stands just in case. Before I built my confidence up in the jack stands, I would also slide an old wheel under the car too

I cannot recommend a specific model, but only one thing — go for hydraulic jacks rather than mechanical jacks, the latter is not the friendliest and easiest way to do the lifting with. Power Jack Motion, however has jack somewhere on their website, but I think they do focus more on automated lifting systems.

About jack stands, what makes jack stands necessary is its extra support it gives to your car to maintain the position you jacked it to. Having said that,
it would also give you the sound mind to work on your car even when you're just changing your tires; although when changing tires you don't necessarily go under, the stability without the jack stand is still of concern, and the best phrase to remember when you're having doubts is, "Better be safe than sorry".
