I would suggest going to a dyno, and baseline the car. See what power you make now. Get a nice cam as mentioned above in the low to mid 220s on intake lobe, with the right valve events and see what your gains are. Every dyno is going to be different. A cam that is going to make 470 plus is going to be hard to hit 450 tq unless you have all the supporting bolt on mods.

Been preaching this for years.....Big heavy car, little cam. Stay 224-228/.550-.580 and tighten up the lsa....108-110. Its not how much tq, its when and where you get it. Good luck.

I've seen a lot of Dyno numbers from the Night Furry cams and the numbers look good after 3k, but I haven't see very many Dynos
with data below 3k and the few I have seen show the TQ in the low 300s (Lower than bolt-on cars) until 3-3.5k.

After you installed your Night Furry cam how did the car feel over all? Was it sluggish until a certain RPM?

This is an example of what kinda gains I would like. This is PCMs Avenger CAM with Ported heads. The TQ starts off in the 350ft range at 2k and goes strong thru the rest of the RPMs. The only reason I was considering heads was a lot of the dyno numbers show similar or lower torque between 2-3k unless the heads have been ported. I don't know if that comes from the tune or if the ported heads just help out with the torque off idle.

Interesting. Even with 3.91's your LS3 feels slow?

No it doesn't feel slow at all now with Bolt-ons and 3.91 gears, but I don't want to spend the money on a Cam and have the car feel slower down low than it does now lol

I've also got a 06 SRT8 Charger with the 6.1L and that motor is very torquey between 2-2.8k, but it feels very flat after 3k where my SS feels keeps pulling harder and harder The SRT8 only has a X pipe and muffler delete with a tune, but two totally different setups.

I can tell you this about the Avenger in a stock headed LS3, you are not going to see 470 torque. I do recommend this cam as it performs really nice and drives good too. I have recently chose to play with another cam combo so if you are dead set on buying the Avenger I can make you a deal on it with 5000 miles. Mine made 473/430 at PCM, 400 tq from 3600 up to 62-6300. I too have 3.91's and it rips the tires pretty good. Definitely a great little stick!

I love my defribrilator from cordes. Drives almost like stock and pulls hard. I couldn't imagine the lack of traction if I added 3.91s. There are lots of different options out there an as everyone stated getting the tune right by someone that know what they're doing is key.

I trust joe with my car. True professional and does some crazy high hp builds.

How does this look?

This is our LS3 Polluter camshaft. Copied, but never duplicated!

Here is our Stage 2:

Stage 1:

These are all CAM ONLY with bolt ons. The Polluter cam combo's had stock exhaust and H-pipe aside from the one that made 500/450.

My car felt torquey throughout the band, especially with the 3.91. My torque was in the 350 - 375 range @ 2500 rpms and peaking at 454 around 4850 rpms. It never felt sluggish at any RPM. I always had to turn the traction control off to prevent the torque management from taking away my timing!!

Here is the link to my dyno sheet. Not sure how to embed.

What Bo said is correct, don't laugh when I tell you my specs its a comp cam 54-456-11 219/227-607/614@112
I'm looking at the dyno sheet as I type 89deg 62% humidity. Sae 452.68hp 446.49 torque.

The torque came on very strong starting at 2500 rpm and pulled to redline. It drove awesome no bucking or any issues whatsoever, had a nice little chop to it. I live in a big city with lots of stop and go traffic. I surprised a lot of people on the street, guess who got the last laugh.

Bo heard the cam that I currently have in my car now which is only 2deg up from this one.

Nothing to laugh at there. My cam is significantly bigger and you have 20 more hp, and 46ft/lb of torque more than I do.

Thanks, some would laugh when they hear the specs, some of the techs at the tune shop jaws dropped when they saw the torque and where it came in at.
