Looks good! Are those the regular hex vents?

How was the cutting, other than the dremel death?

Thanks,

Yes they are the regular Hex Vents... If it looks like it will work, I'll be putting a second set wider out and a little bit further back, in the hopes of getting most of the air out from under the hood along the firewall... I'm not using the trays either...

The biggest problem I had cutting them was the first blade I tried to use was too short, and it wasn't going through both layers of metal.... Other than that, no problem... The dremel death was kinda funny.... and man it made a big cloud of smoke...

I know they aren't necessarily for looks for you, but daaaang. I love seeing them! NICE!

I might put a set of those on the "list" of wants.

The hood is the right color if you want to see it on your car... but there are no stripes...

And you are correct, looks never entered the equation... this is strictly a performance addition, though I freely admit they look great... Steve at Hex Vents did a great job with these..

We are going to mount the other two but they are in my trailer box, which is at my builders ranch right now. So, I'll do those when I get back from work in a little over three weeks.

We had a good laugh, I told him the brushes on my dremel were going out and sure enough about half way through trimming some of the inner frame, is arced and started smoking real bad... I unplugged it and put it aside. Fortunately, I was close enough to being finished that it didn't matter... I'll pick up a new dremel tool.

This hood is for the mile only as of right now, I may or may not paint it Red Jewel Tint... This one is CGM...
Cool I'm serioursly considering those vents for Pumpkin.

They are nice B.

Installing them was interesting. I think I would have been better off if I had watched the video... but I did the man thing.... so it was a revelation at each step.... but there is nothing hard about it... Just make sure the blades you use are long enough to reach through both layers of metal... That was the biggest problem I had...

So two packages arrived today at the shop while I was driving over here to Mississippi...

One was the fuel pump from Aeromotive... They replaced the entire motor and ungraded the inlet tube...

The other box was the Weldon fuel pump and controller...

Corey is already at work fabricating the items needed to mount this. He and Allan rewired the Lingenfelter dual pump system and put it back in the tank...

Now we have to build a two gallon~~ fuel cell and install the Weldon on the outside of it and plumb it all together. Finish the parachute and the roll cage and we will be ready for the mile...

Brother Mike, no worries.. Like I told the guys from San Antonio... Go to the Nats and support you guys... Unless you are directly involved, the mile can be pretty boring...ild rather they go help support you guys and I'll be heading to Sealy after my Sunday morning run if all goes as planned... Make my last fast pass, buy some 215 + mph t-shirts and go help support you guys...

The Nats are a blast...

I'm sure you'll have a great pit crew. The mile is still on my bucket list.

But I still have to miss this one...:(
