So it is either the same absorber, which you're saying it is not, or they have made the 2012 absorber retroactive to the 2010 models. I have seen GM do this quite a few times before on a lot of Corvette parts. I don't mind getting the absorber if it is actually different.

Thanks,
Gene.
Hi Gene, i think they updated the absorber, i will have a pic to show the older 2010-11 cars don't come with the updated absorber, but it will 2 weeks at best.

I'm definitely convinced that they have changed it and made it retroactive, after reading this. I don't mind spending money... after all I have invested lol, but I wanted to make sure it is necessary. Thank you!

I have both in hand and the original rear absorber(My 2010) does not have the same drop down hole locations for the ZL1. However the new absorber has provisions for both styles.
So the new ZL1 absorber will work for all before.
And i believe all current models being produced may have the updated absorber from here out, meaning that most on the road at this time still may need the new absorber for proper mounting.
My .02 cents

Ray,

Could I get one of those templates from you please? I'm about ready to do the ZL1 front bumper, side rockers and rear diffuser on my SS.

I'm almost finished with the Magnuson and cam. Then I am installing the ZL1 fuel pump, headers and the ZL1 cat-back so I can use the dual mode mufflers.

I am going to actually the the actuators to work on the exhaust. Have you done this Ray? I am going to be installing a kit on mine that will allow me to turn the mufflers on and off by using the homelink in the roof console.

Anyway, Ray, can you please contact me, gene@gmpartshouse.com or 484-949-2099 on the template? If you wanted, I would be willing to buy them from you to sell with my ZL1 rear diffuser kits.

Thanks,
Gene.
Hey Gene, I sent you an email.

Thanks for the information. So my theory is correct that they have changed the absorber and then made it retroactive. I'll be in contact with you this week!
