That looks great. This is something I've been looking for since I bought our car. My concern was the air bag.

Is that a replacement?
Was the original hard to remove due to the location?
Any tips?

It is a replacement, it's impossible to remove the original one without breaking it.

Is the replacement plastic?

Does the original just pop off? I removed the rear bowtie insert to replace it with a black one and it was easy to get off. Just held on by a little bit of adhesive.

the original is held on with a many clips in all different directions, i dont see any possible way of removing it without destroying it, you can either paint it while its on the steering wheels, vinyl over it, or get a replacement from emblempros.com like i did

I'm not worried about saving it. Just wondering the right way to get it off without damaging the steering wheel, or something that.

Just pry it off?

The matte black almost makes it look like something is missing.
