Well clearly there was a choice, as they've now stopped offering it. I guess I'm just trying to figure out the rules of the game here. Seems less about being American made and more about being not Chinese made.

Good thing religion had nothing to do with Adam's decision. Nothing worse than oppinions on politics, religion, and economies. There are a million different oppinions on each and no real winner. Adam's is a wonderful company and I support them because of the customer service and the quality of the products. I use a Porter Cable but to each his own. This has been as entertaining as that show, "Housewives of Beverly Hills". Keep up the fun times!

Yep... So big on Made in USA, except the Flex has always been German. I don't see how this lines up with the core values everyone likes to spout.

Can you provide a link to where to register my Flex?
Will you still be supporting it with pads?

With that said, let me get this straight. Adam's was always fine with the Flex because it was made by people who are being treated fairly. Fine, I agree and accept with that notion. But now, even though the Flex is still being made by Germans, who are still being treated the same and are still being given the same rights, you guys are pulling the plug on selling the Flex because a Chinese man or company owns it. A further point of this decision on behalf of Adam's is based on an assumption that the Flex production will be moved to China, because as you said, it has not moved there yet. All that has essentially changed is that profits of Flex are going into a Chinese man's pockets instead of a German man's. No workers have been fired or laid off, no workers have lost rights, and no production has shifted away from Germany. It seems more like the company stance is anti-Chinese, instead of pro-rights for workers. I love the pro-American stance of Adam's, but it just seems, and again this is my opinion, but that this move is just one small step away from racism against the Chinese. .

Well, here's my two cents on the Made in USA argument. I believe in order to legally say your product is Made in the USA you have to have over a certain percentage of American parts in it. Not 100%, but at least 70%, but I could be wrong on the percentage. A few years back I had a Victory motorcycle, which is an American made bike. We used to get into it with Harley owners who liked to brag their bike was REALLY made in the USA. It turned out Harley had about 72% American content and Victory had 75%. Did that make Victory more American than Harley? I don't think so.
Don't know if this makes any difference, but I only have a Bachelor's and a Masters in Accounting.

More and more Harley parts continue to be outsourced, and ironically the bikes are getting better because of it. |

100%. They're built in Oshawa. And with a lot of off-shore content to boot.
