Hows this for a kick in the groin

Went to a out of town dealer when i seen a SS camaro on the lot and inquired about ordering a 2LT/RS iom with io interior no sunroof for the spring. Low and behold that same build was coming in and for sale on Monday but didnt have all the details til it came in so i didnt want to put any money down on a car they didnt know 100% about. I thought he was pulling my leg but it was true so told him ill be back Monday after work. Rushed home Monday from work. Told the wife lets go check out the car she wants to feed the kids and do some things around the house first being a good husband i said sure np. I want my 2 boys to experience the whole process of getting this car so thats why i wanted them to come along. Get to the dealer they just sold it to some kid and sure as hell its 100% what im going to order ugh. That hurt it was like a punch in the stomach. Guess i get the pleasure of going through the ordering process now ;o(.

Next time let the kids go hungry. It builds character.

Why didn't you put a deposit on it ?.. My dealer, Richard Chev in Cheshire Ct had a new 2SS/RS coming in a day or two that a customer cancelled on back in June. The dealer took a $500.00 deposit from me to give me 1st dibs when it came in. I looked at it the same day it arrived and decided it was not for me. Richard Chev tore up my Visa deposit and sold the car the same day to someone else. I'm now driving the exact Camaro I wanted ordered from Richard Chevrolet.

You fed your kids before thinking of your car. That's being responsible. It's a sorely lacking thing in 2009. It's going to show, later on, when your kids grow nicely.

And the car will be coming in one day, and you'll be merrier for the wait. In the meantime, do like I did and buy some good detailing products (wash, sponges, brand new bucket) and stare a it, dreaming of washing your brand new Camaro.

You did everything right and it still ended up in someone else's hands. That car was not meant to be YOUR car. Move on and get your car. What's a few weeks? You can use the experience to teach your kids about patience and perseverance and the rewards in the end when you take them with you to pick up the car YOU ordered and waited for. All worth it.
Good luck.
