camaro5 at the dragon?

ok most of us need to set up our vacations well in advance. we need to have a get together in the next year, why not the dragon. tail of the dragon for anybody not in the know its 318 curves in 11 miles located in tenn. and n. carolina. the number 1 place that car clubs and motorcycles clubs get together. the dragon is fun but there are so many other roads just as nice or better and lots to do for the whole family.

I live maybe 40 miles from Deals Gap. Have ridden my Harley on the Dragon, Cherohala Skyway, Cherokee Mountain, Devils Triangle, Maggie Valley ( Wheels Through Time Museum ) etc. numerous times since I moved to Knoxville TN 5 years ago. During summer months you will find a great deal of traffic on these roads ( especially during the weekend ) and lodging becomes more expensive and a bit more scarce. Frankly the Dragon is more a motorcycle road than a car road though many car clubs do run it during the year. I'd love to see a gathering of 5th gen Camaro's near my home and eastern TN is a beautiful location, I would just avoid the July and August time frame. Ed M.

I have been there many times and it is a great place to get together. I have ridden it on my bikes many times and also taken our Mustang there. There is a lot of other things to do in the area and a nice place to spend some time. I think it would be a blast in a camaro, it is not about high speed there anyway there are police all over the place. I am all for it, maybe we could pick a date that is not a conflict with other bigger events and have a camaro weekend similar to the corvette or hot rod weekends.

My friend who lives in the area drove it in her Mustang, so you'd better believe I'll drive it in my Camaro when we go to visit her in August! However, I won't take it too fast because Madmax is right, there are cops everywhere along there.

The Road to Hana! (Yes, in Hawaii). Great road...but I was joking due to its location.

I wanted to run that in an RX7 back in the day. Would still love to hit that trail in a Chevy. Would make a good Camaro video.

Lot of accidents... got to watch out.

Here is a vid that someone on the RX7 Club had posted a while back.
