I talked to Ted Jannetty and he said you can't run them because of the Knock sensor. This would cause it to detect a knock and would therefore pull back the timing and result in lower performance. I have read on another forum that the knock moudule could be changed to a less sensitive unit, however this would reduce the effectivness of being able to detect a legitimate know. Ted also said that the timing chain was spot on reliable.

im pretty sure the ones that are made for the lsx engines are the quiet type,, not like the old school straight cut gears for the older gen engines

I have that one on my 71 Camaro , I love it, I wish there was a SC that was that loud for my 2010.

I've always liked the sound that went along with the confidence in no timing loss. I can understand there is no issue in the newer gen engines (LSX) but I still would change it in a heartbeat if it were avaialble without additional issues.
