Roll down and back up

I got this message twice today in my dash display.

Open the passenger window then close it

Or something like that. Anyone had this before? Anyone know why I might be getting it?

The top was down before I noticed the message, I rolled the window down and back up and it didn't go away until I hit the menu-select toggle. It didn't reappear that drive, but the next time I started it up it did the same thing. Haven't noticed anything weird with the window except that it wouldn't auto-roll up while the message was there. And this morning when I got it home I noticed that the passenger window 'seemed' to come down more than normal when I opened and closed the door.

Anyone have any ideas?

should just be the windows going through the self indexing process. I think it is what calibrates how far the window should go down when the door opens and then how far to go back up when it shuts.

I got the message once. No matter how many times I put the window down and up it would not clear. My window stopped indexing. I had to look up how to reset the window. You un-clip the wires going to the window with the car in run but not started. After at least one minute hook it back up. I did it about three weeks ago and it hasn't come back.

Me also

Had it happen several times, does not like to have the windows/top put down with one of the doors open, I am bad about that and that seems to be the trigger.
Solution for me is to have the top up, do the windows up and down until it's happy, and to avoid, just shut my door before putting the top down, have the windows up and then let the master switch put the windows down as the top goes down.

Pain, but it eliminates the systems confusion.

Thanks - good info! Haven't had it happen yet, usually reach inside thru the driver's door window opening to put the top down. Old habit, I stand outside while putting the top down 'cause I used to have to adjust my old ones to keep them from being pinched.

The steps for reprogramming our windows are in the manual in section 2 page 16.

To program each front window,
follow these steps:

1. With the ignition in ON/RUN,
close all doors.

2. With the window partially open,
pull the power window switch up
until the window is fully closed.

3. Repeat step 2 on all remaining
windows.

The windows are now
reprogrammed.

I hope this information helps you. Let me know if this works for you!

This didn't work for me. I had to reset my window by pulling the power cable.
