Ok, it's a cool app for only certain phones. You are pretty much signing on to a system through your phone. How much harder is it to save the On-Star phone number and just dial it and speak to a friendly person??? A little redundant??

So will this app work with 2010 model cars or just 2011 cars? Sorry if this is a dumb question in advance.

Sigh..

So far it's only the 2011's but people are sending e-mails on gm's website to include the '10s. A valiant and commendable effort

GM doesn't offer remote start on manuals so why in the world would Onstar ever be able to do this. ugh ignorant comments!

If you don't mind reading what I wrote more carefully, you'll realize that from my tone I'm aware that Onstar will not offer remote start. Just thought I'd share my 2 cents and my thoughts. Didn't know I was on a communist forum. Apologies.

Tone? Its text on a forum!

OnStar Does offer remote start, no GM manual transmission vehicle offers remote start OnStar or not.

"The tone of a text refers to the emotional attitude expressed by it. A text's tone can be happy, sad, angry, and so on. Perhaps the most interesting tonal features of a text--and the ones most worth annotating--are when the tone becomes harder to grasp." http://classweb.gmu.edu/tec/annotation/tacatone.html

I KNOW that GM and Onstar does not provide remote start for manual transmission. I left the manual transmission out of that sentence because it was redundant to put it in since that was what we were discussing. It looks like now we are on the same page though. Cheers.

Seriously, you're gonna quote college websites now?

Lets go back to your original post:

You SPECIFICALLY SAID manuals, I don't know how much clearer you can get. This is ridiculous.

Can we stop squabbling and start bugging GM to include this feature on the 2010's too. I seriously did not care about the HUD and the color options or the HP ratings on the 2011 Camaro, but saying that this feature wont be available on the 2010 camaro's is PURE BS. I am and engineer and have worked with remote systems automation and can easily tell you that There should be no major reason this wont work on the 2010 VS the 2011. SInce its basically a person sending a signal to the car VS. a server somewhere.

I actually believe that many Older models might be getting a newer onstar capabilities on their 2011 Models VS their 2009/2008/2010 cars. But the Camaro is a 20910 model and should have received whatever new system they had.

If they will include the 2010 I will definitely buy a new phone! So Apple and HTC should "reccommend" to GM and Onstar to include our cars seeings how we are already 120,000 or so strong if even 10% bought new phones thats 12,000 in phone sales not a bad as far as I can see!

Agree with you, highly doubt it. Not sure how it would work either. There are many factors that would make this very difficult, among them is that most people leave their manual trans car in 1st when parked.
