Stock SRT Challenger Dyno's 420 to the wheels.

Is this real?

If it is Dodge has seriously underrated their 6.1L HEMI engine...

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Yeah, Dodge underrates. The 5.7 is rated at 370 for the Chally, but it's more like 390.

Yea but for the SRT to dyno at 420 it would have to be in the 450-500 range depending on % loss

If it is real its not stock, maybe a Diablo and some long tube headers etc..you can look at alot of reputable tuners dyno sheets and see how they got to that number.

depends on the type of dyno, correction factor, etc etc. you can make a dyno read about whatever you want.

a dyno is nothing more than a tuning tool.

Not sure about modern HEMI engines, but back in the 60's the 425 hp rated motors were making upward of 600 hp on a dyno.

Regardless of the dyno number, they are still slower than the G8 GXP. The Camaro being lighter than the G8, will be even faster.

you are right but the new hemis cannot be tuned the way the old ones were...you have to stroke these ...the 425 hp to 600 one you speak of is the old school 426 hemi engine...which was a 7L v8 which was quoted wayyyyyyyyyyy below its hp rating....that is why the new hemis can be stroked into a 392 or 426....or even a 440
