1st gen 69 is the absolute best body style, IMO. 2nd gen was ok, it got weird in the late stages with the rubber front end, though. Had a Z28 and RS anyway. The 3rd gen was shall we say, different. It was ok, but it was a typical 80s GM car. Had 3 of those. The 4th gen was ok for what it was. It finally restored the Camaro to Mustang killer status. Loved it though even though it looked like a catfish from 98-02. The 5th gen was the resurrection to be sure. Somewhat retro, but way more refined nod to the roots. Too bad it was so huge. But I just KNEW I had to have one. It's the first Camaro that I instantly liked at first sight.
The 6th gen? It'll have to grow on me. I said that with the third gen, and I said that with the 4th gen (hated the exposed wipers at first). I like it, but I didn't fall instantly in love with it. Wasn't sure I'd like the 6th until I saw a straight on side shot of it. I really like that view. I'll probably come around. But not yet. And these are JUST MY OPINIONS. Yours may vary.

I do like the interior on the 16, it has some of the changes I wished mine had, but I love my 14 convertible, and the only way I would trade it in would be for another 'vert. I have yet to see any pictures of the 6th gen convertible, but I would have to see it in person and drive it before deciding.

I have no idea what you are talking about with the bloodline thing. Please explain. Unless you are refering to the "Asian-Euro" look. Either way, please explain.

The 5th gen will go thru history as a Camaro icon. It could never be overshadowed or replaced by the 6th gen or any generation afterwards. The 5th gen ushered in a new legacy of Camaro fans, and it rejuvenated the nameplate and reminded all of its fans about Camaro's heritage.

ONLY THING I'D TRADE MY CAR FOR? A GEN 5 1LE OR ZL1.

As soon as I saw the 6th gen I traded in my 2011 SS for a 2015 1LE same day. I love it. When I buy a camaro I want a muscle car. If I wanted a sports car I would buy a sports car.

GM pushed too hard to make the Camaro more like the Corvette in appearance. Exterior is decent overall but the interior is way too busy for me at least from the pics. I will stay with the 5th gen.

Certainly the 5thGen is not "dead"....It's older....time marches on....
If I didn't have a 5th Gen Camaro, I would buy a 6th Gen for sure...but the 6thGen hasn't awed me enough to trade in....The same went for the 5thGen refresh...just not enough of a change... |

I think the 6th Gen will sell well. It should out perform the 5th in every way. I don't care for the rear end though, and the interior design doesn't move me either (materials look nice though).
But to answer your question, no the 5th is not dead to me. Not planning on purchasing a new Mustang or Camaro. New cars are a waste of money.....the 5th was special enough to me to order one new. Little chance of that happening again |

The 6th gen is dead to me. Gen5 vastly superior in the looks department.

The Fifth Gen was a true homage to the original and the Six looks like a chinese knock off you could buy on Alibaba.
I do like the push button start though. |

Not a fan of the 6 either. Looks kills it for me. I was never really a big fan of the 5 either, being a Mustang guy. But I will say that the 5 does indeed look better every way than the 6 to me. If there were some way to transplant some of the gadgetry into the 5, best of both there. It looks too "me too ish" imo. So no 6 for me. Will stick with my 5 and get a 11-14 5.0L to join it eventually.
