Did they get a dyno run with the motor put back in?

The motor has already been run on the dyno and the transmission/torque converter has also been dyno tested. The ECU, fuel pump controller and the pumps themselves used on the dyno are specific to each car/combination so that is all going back in the car. Then fire it up and go. I know the engine/transmission/DRIVESHAFT! (yeah that was a scary one - haven't got the final billet yoke, but at least the one in there is a 1350) /fuel tanks/fuel pumps/controllers/line loc/trans brake/battery cutoff switch/intercoolers/radiator/cooling/ac plumbing are all in. Heck, the fuel tanks are even anodized now. Scott (painter extraordinaire) is doing the hood and the rear spoiler. I am a little bummed about the paint, but we just plain ran out of time for the final repaint (I will tell you it is a wicked black pearl flip-flop with a cool irridescence under certain light). So at C5FestII it will just be factory GM Black. |

so, is the rest of the SST the cool color, or none of it right now?
have they fired up the engine with the key yet.. under it's own power? I've been having Camaro DT's - nothing to work on - no car to drive.. My car is somewhere in between NH and PHX... in a dark place going to the fest all alone.:( |

None. It would have looked kinda retarded half-n-half. But that's probably what everyone expected outta me. Funny story. The factory ECU will not let you start it without a boatload of input sensors. Almost all of those sensors are no longer there or have been replaced with other units. So...the starting circuit had to be rewired. Works like a charm now. Probably fire it in the car tomorrow. This was my last pic of the SST in FL (circa July 2009) I feel your pain... |
