About 3 weeks ago I placed an order for a 2SS. I was told at the time that I was #17 on the order list.

However, a co-worker of mine is friends with the dealership staff and he talked to them for me. According to the dealership/my friend, they moved me up and placed my order. I asked for a workbench order # so I could track the order's progress. They (Dealer) said it will take about 2 weeks to get one because GM has to give it to them and that is usually how long the process takes. Well its been about 3 weeks now and still nothing. I've been nagging my buddy to see what's up and he said GM still hasn't given the dealer a number. Does this sound plausible or is someone blowing smoke up my @#$#? I'm probably being impatient, but in my defense, its all this guys fault for posting his car-porn on this site.

You should have an order number now. Looks like the dealership hasnt even placed the order.

you should have gotten an order# the day you placed you order!!! even if they had no allacation!!! i placed my order at connell on 4/3 and i was # 50 at that time!!! but i still had an order number!!!!!!

If the dealer does not have the 6 digit order #, they have not placed the order, period. When the order is placed in the workbench system, it is assigned the 6 digit order #. So if what you're saying is true, they have not ordered your car yet.

You're right! I just got off the phone with the Dealer and they now say I'm #8on the list and they haven't ordered my car. I'm fing pissed!

So you either have to go to a dealer who has an allocation for your order, or stay with this one and play the waiting game. If they don't have immediate allocation for your order, you could wait weeks or months before your order is accepted into cue for production.

Something fishy though, your dealer has already lied to you. You don't need allocation to "place" the order in workbench. You need allocation for GM to run with the order from workbench. So 3 weeks ago, when you placed your order, it should have been entered in workbench and you walk away with an order number....whether the dealer has allocation or not.

and u continue to trust this dealer? take your business elsewhere. They lied to you already.

I would got to another dealership if you can. Like they said above, they have lied to you already. And plus, how fair is it that they bump you up above other people who were in line ahead of you. If they are willing to be underhanded in that way, they certainly will do it to you.

they told me 8 to 14 weeks
i put my order last monday july 27th.
it hasnt been a week and im getting frustrated.
maybe its b-cus im 19 or b-cus of all the mustangs who think there hot shots thats making me this way but yea. . .
well hope you get your car soon dude. . .

Your getting dicked. It doesn't matter what number you are and it doesn't matter if the dealer even has allocation for the car, he puts the car in the system and a workbench is printed out instantly with an order number.

I know how you feel bub, just be patient getting out of line will just show them that you are an immature teenager. Handle it with maturity. You should have your order number instantly, and there is no telling how long it could take just depends on how many allocations the dealer has and what your priority is out of how many he has.

Ok I dumped the dealer. Anyone know how good the Elk Grove Chevy dealer is? They said that they will be getting 4 camaros in this month and that they only mark up the car about 2k. They are getting an IBM but it’s a stick.

Also, another Sacto dealer is getting in a red and dark red one this month so I'm thinking about going with my 2nd choice. To be honest, I really want the IBM, I get warm wuzzies every time I look at that guy’s car

, but I don't want to wait until December or later. I have to pay 400+ in car registration on my SUV, which I'm using as a trade in, in Oct. I don't want to shell out that kinda dough and then turn around and get rid of the car in a month or two.
