Tempted to take the camaro to track today and give her a few runs up the strip.

Sounds like from the event info they are allowing street guys to rip there cars so were going to head over and see. Im sure ill fail the launch and not show the potential of the camaro but its worth the try. |

Its the far from stock weekend.
From what i understand they are allowing street cars. I went to the far from stock website and read it. |

Also, one of the biggest mistakes guys make when trying to launch their cars is being overly aggressive. Just try to get off the line smoothly without wheel spin. You'll run much faster times with a nice conservative smooth launch than dropping the clutch at a high rpm and hammering the gas = wheel spin city. So a nice smooth launch and some fast shifts and you'll be looking at some decent track times. |

Thanks for the advice....
From reading other posts here i see others talking about 1200rpm with smooth clutch release.... Just going to try my best........ Once i get rolling ive got going through the gears down ok. I remember with my old mustang i would let off the gas when shifting at the track...... Wondering if thats a no no in this camaro |

Made the mistake of being to aggressive ........errrr May go back tomorrow for more practice... Was only 1/8 mile drag Best time was Reaction = .952 60ft = 2.36 594ft = 8.725 1/8 mile = 9.292 @ 79.38 mph |
