I did a 24 mile drive on the hwy with cruise contol on with my manual V8 and it averaged 26 mpg.

My car to date is averaging 17.9 mpg through 15,000 miles. I'm very happy with that.

Just to clarify, have you made any mods or is your car completely stock from bumper to bumper? That's really impressive gas mileage!

What kind of gas were you using? The best I ever got was 27 mpg on the highway and that's with ethanol free 93 and an Injen CAI and Flowmaster axle back. I was also using cruise control at about 70.
Yeah actually I am using 93 Octane (Shell)

speed is a HUGE factor here - sounds like he is driving in the 45 to 55 range. Try that speed range on yourt next trip and Ill bet you get 30-33 mpg by the DIC.
The Highway portion of the test was @ 65mph, although I didn't exactly drop the hammer to get there .

EDIT: Guess I should've mentioned I didn't hit any hilly portions throughout these tests, pretty much flat roadways throughout.

2000 rpm will result in approx 70 mph

The best I have seen on trip to Memphis and back to Allen Tx was (rpm 2000) 70 mph 26.9mph going and coming back at 74 to 75 (2100 tp 2200 rpm) was 24.5...just stock....a lot of a factors come into play here, wind and load factor

Cruising on the highway actually doing the speed limit, Cruise control off, and limited acceleration my stock SS will get around 30 mpg.

Nice! The Canadian imports have a speedometer printed in KPH by default -- that goes up to 300 on the dial? I would love to have one of those -- since the printed numbers don't change when you switch between KPH/MPH.

I drove 450 miles to Carlisle and back and averaged 28.8mpg and less than 1/3 was interstate. Last fall going to NEOCC I averaged 32.5 round trip on I-80. I average 23 - 24 mpg around town.

768 miles from San Diego, CA to Wendoever, NV was 25.8 mpg and average 73.1mph. During the open road race of 101.60 miles, car was doing 110mph and above and average 14.5 mpg. The DIC does not average mph above 110(or a 100) mph, it just says 14.3 mph.

My SS around town 14MPG, but on the highway, 65MPH and under, over 27MPG, anything above that, my MPG goes down.
