My grill came from another vendor and it showed the same thing when I took the bowtie off. They come from GM with the bowtie. That's how they come from GM. I put another emblem on the front and it looks great.

I have never had ANY problems with GM PartsHouse. They are very helpful great guys. Patrick has always answered all my questions and they are a reputable company. I will gladly buy from them again!

I've still got some stuff I screwed up over the years.

have ordered from GMparthouse and not one problem, they alerted me when I purchased my Heritage grille that it would take a few days longer than normal, but once they got it, it was sent to me fast, and in perfect shape! will probably get the auxillary guage package from them in a couple months.

The grill I ordered from Tonkin Chevy also came marked like that from the emblem too. It's the way they come from GM. They must have Popeye fastening the bowties using too much muscle.

Likely the painted grilles you see are in house painted. So no bowtie and also not a GM official product.

Part of the problem with shipping those grilles is they come in the flimsiest box and don't protect the grille very well. I lost an unpainted one to shipping damage. I'd wager your grille got bounced around and pushed the bowtie into the grille.

Mine was tweaked a bit in the same spot as well. But it wasnt that big of a deal to me. Looked again after reading this thread and it went back to normal.
