Mosler runs Corvette motors too. I was in the MT900S and spent some time at the production plant in Jupiter. Fun place.

Interesting times..

If the Z/28 manages to lose some weight over the CTS-V coupe, it would seem to give the new GT500 a hell of a run; it was only a 2 tenths difference between the two!

I'm not sure what the lsa and the ls3 weigh but I can't fathom the z28 weighing as much as the cts-v does. it should be a couple hundred lbs lighter?

I believe curb weight on a CTS-V sedan is around 4200 lbs.

Probably. Even more so with the ZR1.

Ferarris and Lamborghinis are nice cars but overplayed IMO.

It's like Jeremy Clarkson said...you expect an Enzo to go fast...but you simply don't expect the power of the ZR1.

Whoever was their driver for this VIR test suck's as he is almost 6 seconds off the lap time the 2011 GT500 PP set earlier this year at VIR (2:58.48) when it beat the 2010 GS and was only .2 seconds behind the ZO6. Its not really worth get all worked up over these numbers since they were all put down by a driver who is 6 seconds slower a lap then the car is capable of which is a freaking eternity per lap.

That is precisely why many people ignore attempts to compare runs made on different days by different drivers, and why most enthusiasts look forward to seeing the lightning lap results. The cars get tested at the same time by the same driver, so the variable is the car itself. Its not about getting the best possible time (honestly, who relies on magazines for that?) but more about having a valid way to actually compare well different cars perform on the same track.

Great showing by the Stangs.

Could only imagine what the V6 would do without being on the rev limiter for 15 seconds.

.... but Clarkson drives and owns a Lambo Gallardo
overplayed? you see hundreds of vettes on the road daily while you might be lucky to see 1-2 ferraris or lambos.

The car that amazes me on the list, mainly because it gets kicked like a red headed stepchild, is that Cobalt SS. Those things get insulted daily, but wow- great value.

The Camaro seems to me that it's a factory suspension tweaking away from being a dead heat from the Mustang, maybe even slightly faster. Making the front and rear tires the same size may even be enough to do it. However I bet you'd get notes like "it doesn't feel faster, but you can't argue with the times" kind of things.

im sure the mustang is just wider tires away from doing way better as well though. Their stock tires are tiny for a 370rwhp car.
