This^^^ Its all about performance. I have beat cars that pull higher HP than I do.

Supercharges and Turbos are great but cammed cars are over achievers.

If you like the old hot rod rumble get cammed.

If you like it quiet and low pro get supercharged or turbo'd.

Depending on the packages you get on what ever option you pick they should result in good times on the track and comparable to each other.

They are great options. Before you buy anything make sure you go to a shop with a good rep. I have known people in the past to take their GM cars to get work on by Ford performance shops.

I am not in agreement that you have to go power adder.

What you will need is the correct combo of parts and that would look like:

Stock ported heads.
Camshaft that will support the ported heads for flow and maintain good cylinder pressure.
Long tubes.
Good CAI.
Port matched intake along with ported throttle body.
A good 93 octane tune.
High-flow cats with a nice cat-back exhaust with x-pipe.

Texas Speed has achieve 500WHP with mentioned setup. I would recommend contacting them.

Ok well I'm not shooting for dyno numbers. I just wanted an idea of what would give me that much.

Maybe I want less, maybe more.

This is what I'm running now: Borla S Type axleback, and a CAI.

This is what I have lined up right now: Stage 2 or 3 cam, Camshaft install kit with dual springs, 25% SFI Underdrive pulley, and LTH with hi flo cats and x pipe.

If you are looking for an awesome sound with an increase in power and possible decrease in low RPM drivability depending on cam selection then I would go with the Cam setup and see how happy you are with it after that before chasing dyno numbers. It is going to take more then a cam to get to the number you posted.

Somebody needs to read a little bit more of this thread.

The post above you says i'm not worried about dyno numbers, it was just a figure.

In that post it lists what I have lined up. I talked to a guy on here who has all that and is making 450 RWHP.

Thats what i'm looking for right now. Later I will add a supercharger to bring it up.

I was wondering what else would accommodate the stuff in the post above you to get close to 500.

I want a big cam, but not so big I can't cruise the highway in 6th gear.

Electric water pump, ported heads, ported intake manifold, ported throttle body... those will get you closer for a balls out N/A setup. You are looking at a good $1xxx+ just in parts for the above tho.

Yeah.

It's gonna be almost 3 grand for the cam, cam install kit with dual springs, underdrive pulley, LTH, hi flo cats, and x pipe lol.

Yeah, are you really going to want to sink another 1500-2000+ into an electric water pump, ported heads, TB, manifold when you could have slapped a magnacharger on for a little over 5k and made the power you are looking for?

If you are not tracking the car you will be happy with the cam package (for a while atleast)

And that's not even installed. With installation, you're looking at doubling that price, at least. Then add in porting and you can see where you're in SC price territory. With a SC, you KNOW you're going to have the HP you want, and possibly more. With the price of a pully upgrade and new tune, you can have even more. Where do you go when you want more from your NA setup? A more aggressive cam? $800+ nitrous system? You see the options are better with the SC, from a making HP standpoint.

Yeah for all that stuff from who I am getting it from it's going to be anywhere from 4 to 5 grand after installation.

I wanted to wait and do the supercharger next summer, as the car will be paid off by then.

Ughhh

I might be making a phone call to Tom Henry

I've got the cam outta the picture right now.

So really it's to supercharge or to not supercharge
