I would have loved it if was on top like the concept...oh well! There's only one good thing about it being on the passenger side...I'll be able to talk to my dog while I'm filling up. But that's the only thing.

+1 for people who take their dog with them in the car....

the other thing to consider (what they told us at indy) is that it was based off the g8/commodore platform were the gas door placement is correct since the car was designed for them. Now that statement doesnt mean that i dont think they could have swapped the door to the other side easily but....i think we can all find better things to complain about

Actually it was mandated by the President's council on physical fitness, Americans don't get enough exercize so they had to put it on there for health benefits. All new cars will be designed with the gas cap on the passenger's side.

Seriously, It's not a big deal, the hardest part is when you have one car with it on the driver's side and one with it on the passengers side, Sometimes I have to look at the gas guage and see the little arrow to remember which side the gas cap is on...

My dog and his constantly shedding fur will NEVER see the inside of my Camaro! He has to stay in the Jeep!

Oh, and I don't know any gas stations even here in Middle Georgia that are one sided... It doesn't matter where the cap is!

I may be a little late on this one but am I undersatnding that it will not even be an option to have the fille cap on top? And just for the record, I don't care what side it's on!

nope no option would cost too much to have 2 stampings for the quarter panels...

And why wouldn't you be able to talk to your dog from the drivers side?

I second that but i doubt that my dog will ever get to ride in my Camaro if I get what I am planning. Dogs + Leather = BAD THINGS.

Because the dog stays on his seat, he doesn't get on mine. In both of my cars now, when I'm pumping the fuel we can't see each other. So if I did try talking to him without him being able to see me, not only will he get on my side, but there's a good chance he'll jump out the window thinking I want 'em to. And that wouldn't be a good thing!

That question has been answered - due to the G8 (Zeta) platform and where it sits there. Also, on the top you can imagine a few people pouring fuel all over the place...

Fuel door location has nothing to do with where the steering wheel is - more to do with the exhaust location - although true-dual cars tend to be a bit different. There is an article somewhere explaining it all.
