Changed the color to Silver Ice Metallic and reordered(thanks GM),am I too late to order a 2011?
The sad part about my ordering dilemma is that I now have an IBM heritage grille,IBM XM antenna and IBM fuel door after expecting my car to be built.I talked to a GM rep about my situation and asked to be compensated if I have to order a 2012 due to their lack of paint.He told me that GM will do nothing for me,talk to your dealer.
THIS IS NOT THE DEALERS FAULT IT IS SOLELY GM.

I have never had such a time trying to get a car,this blows.I really wanted the IBM color but if I have to order a 2012 I wont see it until September and the mileage on my 2010 will be higher decreasing its value.

GM's fault? Did they cause the horrific disaster in Japan, which is the cause of the shortage of the metalic paints? If your dealer had been straight with you in the beginning they would of told you up front about the constraints!

Dude that Silver Ice Metallic car is going to be SHARP!
I'd double check and make sure it is not one of the constraints too. I heard it was all the metallics.

Yes,GM's fault,the disaster in Japan(God help them all)had nothing to do with Gm having only one supplier.If I were running a business I would have more than one supplier for anything that I manufactured.

Ok I'll you that one about having only one supplier, but shouldn't your dealership let you know about the constraint? That has been out there for awhile now?

Certain components are only made by single suppliers no matter what the product is. I work for a company that manufactures guitars as well as drums and there are components that go into our guitars that are only made by one factory. Having two suppliers for a part costs more money and time.

Also when it comes to paint, you wont get he same consistency and look. Trust me, we go through these issues with our factories when trying to match drum shell wraps. Its all part of doing business.

I know you wanted to order your Camaro but did you ask the dealer to see if he could find the Camaro you wanted with everything you wanted. I mean there are plenty of Camaros sitting on lots and I'm sure the dealer can find one that has everything you want including your color(IBM) and it doesn't cost you anything to ask. My dealer has two IBM's sitting on the lot right now. You might even get a good deal out of it.

Tried that,if it has my exact specs one of two things holds it back,distance and dealer does not want to trade.I will see what happens with my change of color.

Can anyone tell me where to find the rear black out panel that sits just below the trunk lid between the tail lights and how is it attached?

Well that's always good news!!! So you are gonna have 2, what's it like driving 'The New Hotness'? I really hope mine comes in before the 23rd. Then I can roll into TN with it! Man that'l be sweet!

I had a 2005 GTO that went back under the Lemon Law and ordered a 2008 RJT Corvette,hated sitting on the ground.I did this in anticipation of the Camaro being released and having a solid trade.It was taking forever for GM to get their act together releasing the Camaro,so the Vette was traded for a BMW,another good bargaining chip.
You see where I am going with this,I wanted this car,not a Vette or BMW,but a Camaro.I fell in love with the concept car and told everyone when that car is released I will be driving one.I love the looks of this car and after a year of ownership I still walk in the kitchen and open the door to the garage and smile.
