I too have given up on this, there are quite a few nice SS's in my area, no one seems to understand, no pride in their rides.

Is there a reason for assholery?
I got appreciative nods from Chally and Mustang owners while in the Camaro. Lots of people appreciate American muscle. Looks like you ran into a real prick.

people driving older camaros have been nice. C5 owners are hit and miss. Mustangs dudes over here always act like they are too afraid to make eye contact or just always wanna race, in some ugly bodied stang which i aint doin.

Audi people are for the birds.

I've yet to get waves from other C5 owners. I have or used to wave to no results so I quit. I will say that I get all kind of thumbs up from other non performance drivers (The younger set) and admiring looks from other drivers who are older (within that 35 to 50 range, and I'm 54) but the ones who wave at me are the Challenger, Mustang and other cars in that category. Surprises me that they do but its nice! I've since started doing the quick headlight flash at other C5 owners. To me, this is just too cool, gets their attention and if they don't acknowledge, so be it, I don't look like a tool waving and not being acknowledged.

While 5th gen owners are about 50/50 for me, I have never ONCE gotten a return wave, nod or thumbs up from a 3rd or 4th gen owner. I'm beginning to think they don't like the 5th gens in my area

So far, I've had pretty good responses.

Nice Example: I was taking my sister-in-law to try ice cream at Chaney's in KY and we saw an ABM Camaro heading our way. It was great! First time I had taken my baby out just for a joy ride after buying it. The oncoming driver & passenger reacted the same as we did. We were both pointing at each other and laughing as we passed by and waved. Made me feel like I was really part of an awesome car family!

My husband also laughs at me because if I see another Camaro in a parking lot when we stop at a place, I park next to them if possible. He just says, "ah, this must be the VIP Camaro parking area." And then I reply with, "why not? Gotta stick together!"
...One of these days I'll be brave enough to walk into the place and asks who drives the other Camaro....

If I notice another Camaro or Corvette, I will wave or give a thumbs up. Though it's cool if they acknowlege it, sometimes you don't get a response.

Don't take that personally. I know that sometimes I'm concentrating on other things than whether there's another Camaro nearby, so I don't and won't always see them in time or at all. Same goes for all of us. Most that see me will acknowlege the wave/thumbs up in some way though.

As for this a-hole...flipping you the bird? Seriously...what kind of a-hole does that. That's something completely different than not being seen or acknowledging your car.

Ive noticed that women get more results. Even when my mother drives she gets hoots n hollers. Lets be honest. If a guy is driving women are more subtle about things like that but guys just dont care lol

I rarely pass another C5 Camaro while driving mine. When I do I get so excited I'm waving, honking, flashing my headlights, giving thumbs up. The other driver probably thinks I'm a crazy person.

Had a 69 Nova wave saturday. That was nice. We both knew the heritage. Corvette owners won't even acknowledge you are on the same road as them. But I know I paid less for a car that gets more attention!!!!
