I do want to mention on my STS-V the Hawk Ceramics have a temdancy to "moan" when creeping at a traffic light or when the rotors are wet . . this would only be an issue on an automatic trans . . the lack of dust is well worth it though . . I wonder if this is the case with all auto's or if this is just unique with my V.

I had the yellow box Hawk pads on my '06 Z06 and they were horrible when wet. Can anyone report on the ones for the ZL1? I asked in another thread but was ignored.

I think I was the first one on here to do the Hawk ceramic swap. Back at the end of April 2012 two weeks after I got our ZL1 I did the swap. That was 17,000 miles ago. That rotors are still smooth as new. Pads have little wear. There is some dusting but it is minimal. There has been no track driving. Breaking is still excellent. Any one want a set of OEM pads PM and we'll talk. I'm not going back.

No problem. I can tell no difference between these and OEM for normal to spirited driving. I hear track is a different story but I am not and will not be there.

That's kind of how it is with big brakes in the rain. The first stab take's a second to disperse the moisture and heat the pads for proper friction.
