Really? I thought the SRT8 was getting 4.7 0-60 like the the Camaro? I know MotorTrend got that and they got 4.9 for the 2010 Mustang.

I definitely wasn't knocking the car, I was just stating the basic facts. Regardless, no one's going to argue that the SRT8 is bang for your buck. Too expensive.

This leads up to my main point: GM has seriously dropped the ball when it comes to producing the 2010 Camaro. I drove from Orange County to San Diego and back yesterday, and I saw countless new Mustangs, and even an old 68 Camaro, but the new Camaros were nowhere to be seen. How the hell am I supposed to wait to buy a car that I have no idea when it is going to be here, and also I have never seen in person. (I have seen a V6 before, but never an SS).

I guess this is why Ford is going to be able to go the entire year without government money, and GM is on the verge of becoming extinct.
why do you expect to see a lot of 2010 camaros in the spring of 2009? the car didnt officially go on sale until last week. when you start selling a new car, it takes a at least a few months before you see a lot of them. i have seen Zero 2010 mustangs, and only about four 370z. did they also drop the ball? should GM have started selling a 2010 in 2007? that way, the street would be filled with them by the time you wanted to buy one? no.

and i seriously doubt GM will be extinct.

I think there needs to be a Mustang fanatic section at the bottom of the forums for this kind of stuff.

On a very good day, The SRT8 can get a 4.5-4.7 0-60,

not 4.5 ... thats the fastest I've seen for a stock SRT8, normally it would be 4.7-4.9

Still waiting to see an actual head to head challenge of the 2010 mustang, and the 2010 camaro. Not something they did on two different days at different tracks and compare them. Thats a head to head. When they actually have both cars at the same track in same conditions, then we can call it a comparison.

And further, let's hope they're not comparing cars that are broken in to a Camaro w/15 miles.

The 2010 Camaro has been talked about for a long time, and GM has been trying to get this car out quickly, but honestly GM fell on its ass.

I saw another 2 2010 Mustangs today on the way to school. I still have yet to see a 2010 Camaro on the road.

The fact that GM had to push off production of their new 2010 Camaros, combined with the fact that many Camaros are stuck in QC that GM has utterly failed. Why else would you see these pink milk thingies dancing ? People are "losing the faith", and for good reason.

I think that if GM should actually start fighting for its survival, and not just continue as if things were going well.

We all know the Mustang is almost as fast straight line and better at handling, but all the regular people want to hear about is HP and how much it has. Ford will have to raise it up a notch next year in the HP department, and they will, making the '10 Mustang not a great purchase in my opinion.
It's rumored that the Coyote engine will bring the mustang back to its 5.0 roots. Guess we will wait and see. Also the ecoboost v6 twin turbo is rumored to be a option as well. Another wait and see.

Though the updates are supposed to happen, the 2010 is still a great deal. A track pack 2010 performs very very well. And since its still the same engine a billet, a F/I kit will put you at HP you need to be competitive with anything out there.

In the end, a GT is still lighter than a SS or Challenger. So even going F/I, a mustang can still compete simply because its lighter. You can only be as fast as your pockets are deep anyway...
