Yet another heritage grille...and new location for stock grille

Took about 3 hours by the time I set the front on jackstands, removed the front wheels, wheel well liners and dropped the front facia, installed the new grille, and re-assembled. Well worth the time and the $400 for the grille and paint. Went the route of fabricating a landing pad for the SS emblem to attach to the grille and is actually a fender badge for an '06 Impala. Also found a new location for the stock grille.

Looks really nice. Did you get the SS emblem at the dealer and how much? Does the emblem have studs that come out the back?

The grill was $227 plus $16 handling fee from gmpartsdirect.com, Paint was $150 from dealer, only choice close to me. The emblem was available from dealer for about $20, but I bought a 2 pack off ebay for $22. The emblem is backed with 3M tape. I fabbed a pad out of aluminum, painted it black and secured to grille with 3m tape and speed nuts. The aluminum was piece of 3/4" tee. I cut it to length to fit the emblem then notched the tee part in the center and both ends to make 2 tabs. Then I bent it in the center to match the grille angle, painted and attached it as stated in my first post. I heated the emblem with a heat gun and bent it to match then stuck it to the pad.
