Here is the Synergy Green test car with a different hood and holes for pins ... Think it may be a stretch saying the hood makes it a different model. But guess you never know.

Too much camo on the Green one to tell, but the Black one, above, is different than LS/LT/SS/ZL1...different than a production-ready hood would/will look...different enough to have you thinking, "hmmmm..." And I'm sure they didn't do it just to tease some ZEE-wishin' zealots on camaro5...

I'm going to view that post as you were just dumb struck by the awesomeness of a ZL1 Camaro..... The various models of Roush, Shelby, and the now resurgent Boss Mustang have all sold regularly for anywhere from 45k-80k.... People will want it, and given a year or two to mature, the price will actually come down some.... Count on the ZL1 being around for quite a while..

As for people not spending 60k on their Camaros ... there are plenty of people that have spent roughly $40k on a loaded 2SS, then another 15 or 20 grand on mods. It doesn't take long for mod money to add up.

So selling $54,000+++ cars makes more sense than selling $40-something hp cars? No wonder Gov. Rick is takin' a beatin' in Iowa...

I really didn't mean to get into the whole cost/value discussion. But keep going if you want!! I was simply pointing out that the black camo we see in post #5 here, was what everyone thought was the FIRST hints of a different design than ZL1 has. But, I slow motioned the very first ZL1 teaser video and noticed the hood pins and then the tape covering the front air inlet. In a later part of the video you can actually see the camo tape pushing "in" a little due to wind..... So, it just made me think GM has had the whole Z28/ZL1 thing worked out already. Like someone else said I think the ZL1 might just "go away" after the Z28 makes it's entry. Maybe. The ZL1 was just intended to be in a muscle PLACEHOLDER edition for high performance (reaching and reclaiming "the pony car throne" ASAP). When the Z28 comes out, it may be in two stages, making the ZL1 redundant. Just a thought. Meanwhile the PLACEHOLDER is making them ALL sit up, line up, and shut up! LOL Though we know the last words are never going to happen! No meanness intended, just humor!

There is another group that appreciates an upgraded car, but won't spend crazy money for it. Yet another prefers the upgrades coming from the factory. Then there are those that don't want an over the top GT car, but want a more serious track car.
Different strokes for different folks. |
