Need a quiet exhaust. - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi all, right now i have Magnaflow comp series axle back connected to LT ARH's with no cats....and i was just recently pulled over and was given 15 days to make it sound stock, most cops in my town know nothing about cars so I'm hoping an axle back with mufflers would be enough to pass inspection. Ill be pulling them off again right after inspection so i don't need anything too expensive. Just something that would quiet it down quite a bit.

What would be the best choice?

Borrow a stock cat-back from someone in your area if possible.

borla touring is quiet

putting some cats on will make it a little quieter too

Yeah, where are your stock mufflers? Quieter and won't lose any power if you don't get around to putting the other exhaust back on soon

The place i took the car to get the exhaust installed either trashed them or sold them. I didn't think i would end up needing it down the road. Also, at the time, i didn't want them. Had nothing to haul them with and i wasn't about to stuff them in the Camaro.

Hopefully, whatever route it go with, that it will pass inspection.

I live in a medium size town smack dab in the middle of Wisconsin. Apparently the law is anything louder then stock is illegal. Which is ridiculous because Harley's NEVER get pulled over and neither do rice rockets with fart cans.
I ordered the headers without cats so I won't be able to install them, they have no idea that I don't have any cats so it should be fine. I just hope I can muffle the sound for inspection without spending too much money...I was going to be saving up for a cam :( lol.

Magnaflow Street 2.5 catback exhaust. That will solve your issues. You should also get the cat section for your headers. That will also quiet your setup.

You could also get the resonated X pipe that comes with the Magaflow street catback and add it to your current setup. That will quiet it down quite a bit.

Best options

1. Run cats +
2. Add resonated X pipe or get the full Magnaflow 2.5 street catback

Don't you live in Wausau? That's only 30 miles north of me! I will remind myself to stay out of Wausau with my Camaro

Word, another reason why I want to move out of dodge! I saw a car last nite with plastic wrap for their back window. The chances of them getting stopped 0-3% They love newer cars

No Weeds exhaust allows you to completely turn it off and turn it on......Just got mine on Friday. LOVE IT!!

Should be a good setup, but full exhaust is out of my price range. Ill be taking what i get right back off again after inspection.

Yeah normally the Wausau police are cool about it, looks like i just ran into the wrong one. I had this setup for quite awhile now and cops didn't seem to mind until this guy.

Wood County is another bad spot

I got stopped 3 times in that county for no front license plate, drivin too slow on a roundabout, and driving with my brights on when no one else is on the road
