Sorry to hear that...great way to bond with your father. Currently doing the same with a '79 Camaro Z28 with my father. (It was actually his car as a kid, yes he bought back the same exact car from when he was a teenager after selling it to his uncle)
Its white white with blue vinyls. Just like this one.

I also feel ya man, I'm currently selling my '70 Chevelle to get my new Camaro SS. I bought it with the intention of fully restoring it and keep it for a while, but for lack of space and time, it sadly has to go. I'm sure when I'm in the seat of the (CGM 2SS/RS BLK stripes) Camaro, I wont feel so bad...LOL: headbang:: headbang:

I'm asking $12,000, but it's not a firm price. you can see more of this at http://www.onestopmotors.com/1970_Ch...ale_35998.aspx

Well My dad told me that the guy who bought it has a classic car dealer/collection or something.. I forgot the specifics... anyways he bought this car for himself personally. He said when he came to pick it up my dad asked him if it was what he was expecting, and the guy told him it was WAY better than he was expecting.

Dad told me he wouldn't even drive it on the test drive and had my dad drive it and show him what it could do.. so my dad took him out and said they got out on the road and he slowed down to a slow roll and stomped it and told the guy "if you look behind you can see the Posi is working" as he left about 50ft of rubber on the road shifting from 1st to second! lol. He said the guy absolutley loved the car and that it definately went to a good home.

I loved that car though.. if you stepped it down from a standstill the car would roast the tires through first, second, and when shifting to third at like 60+mph it would leave marks.. VERY fun car with the 4 speed Auto w/ overdrive we put in!!! No traction what-so-ever in it, but it's not like we raced it so it was all good fun haha. I can only imagine how hard that car would pull if it had some sticky tires on it!

Well we have been throwing around the idea of doing an LS1 swap in the 69 Camaro SS Conv. That car is also a clone, so no need in keeping it "original" he wants to do some suspension work to make it drive more modern, put a new motor with a 4 speed auto w/ overdrive, (thinking of LS1) and bring it down to FL to their second home and use it as their main car. (and with an LS1 and 4speed auto swap, that car should be a mid 20's mpg combined city/hwy car)

Here's a picture of that car. We have had that one longer and done a lot of work on it as well... but no where near as much as we did on the chevelle.

I love the Camaro, and it turns SOOO many heads, but it just isn't as fun to drive as the 450+hp Chevelle was! (however with an LS1 swap it could be a bit more fun ) But nothing tops the sound of a big camed Big Block!

These older cars are getting harder to come by. I sold my 67 Chevy 2 last year and I have been regreting it ever since. I want another one but I can not bring myself to spend the amount of money it would take to get one. So I made myself feel better buying a new Camaro. lol
