If you look at the picture below there isnt really all that much space inside the lens. You mount the leds inside that raised portion... It would be possible to do one on top (like I did) and one strip on the bottom. But I don't think there is enough room for the vertical led strips.

With that I think it will still look badass if you did the two strips per lens But thats 2 times the $$$$.

I think you get the idea here.. Look how much space the strips take up.. And they are tiny as hell.

Now that I see that pic again, I see the lack of room. The LEDs can be cut after every 5. So they won't work with anything less than 5 LEDs and 5 won't fit vertically.

what if you hazed the inside of the lens? that way the light can disperse a bit and you can get the affect you want?
Even just adding a frost vynil on the inside of the lens may help to get that affect.
With another strip on the bottom, it might be just enough light you need

You could probably get a thin line of light, yes, but wether it be an LED or halogen bulb, it won't have the intensity of these LEDs strips.
Although, if you just want a brighter bulb than stock with a thin concept style, then I'd say go for it. Do this mod but save your money and use a brighter LED bulb. I'd like to see how that would come out as well.

Thanks. And I don't think anything is gonna be as bright or brighter than the LEDs that Mach is recommending.

It is definitely doable to do two strips, one on top one on bottom, like an equal sign, my dads 79 Z28 has a setup like that on his side markers
this would look good, IMO. then just paint the lens between the two strips. end result would look like two LED lights for each marker.

Another choice. If I didn't find these I would have looked to make my own.

Something differant than the stock ones or other ones.

Has anybody ever toyed with the idea of bring back some of the older two row look from the late 70's

For example:

Or even multi colored LED to mimic the old El Camino style?

Might be an interesting twist.

Photoshopped idea below.

We were just talking about those, same as the ones on my dads 79 Z28

Photoshop looks good! Just will be twice as expensive

Thats what i was talking about, possibly making the 'painted' part thicker between the two lights.

That's right and they will come out of the tube. Look at Mach's post #149 in this thread.
