Supposed to get car yesterday- possible recall, or bad info?

I got this e-mail this morning- had everything ready to go pick up my car up at the unveiling-

from my salesman--"I have was on the phone 4 times yesterday and twice this morning I finally got an answer as to where your Camaro is.
It has not yet been released to the shipping yard and is being held for further inspection which I was told is common on first run new Models. The lady could not give me any time frame at all.
I know this is of no comfort to you but yours is not the only one being held for further inspection at this time.
GM just issued a recall on all V8 Camaro’s and customers are not supposed to drive them until the fix is performed. It has something to do with the cable between the starter and the battery was not properly protected."

me thinks it's the battery cable insulation issue... think it's a bit bigger than we thought since they dont want anyone driving the car.

Service manager called me this morning and said he was sending a flat-bed to pick the car up. He then proceed to explained why - battery cable rubbing on starter and engine above starter and GM does not want it driven. Since I was out and about anyway, I drove to the dealership instead of home to wait. Service manager is going to try and get Chevy to over night the parts so I can have it back for the weekend. No guarantee though. Yep. I'm totally bummed!!!!

I was supposed to get my car by last Friday and now I'm told it still in Waycross, GA. on a train. What the heck is the deal? It's been Christmas Eve for 5-6 days waiting on this car.

The recall notice posted on this site says they will overnight the parts.

I'm starting to realize why this car is a 2010 model. :(

Problems like this do arise, and I'm glad that GM is taking precautions to remedy the problem though. I imagine it could potentially be a spark/fire issue. That wouldn't be good.

Guess we are all in the same boat 'till it's fixed on all cars comming off the line as well as those made already.

Who knows what this will add to everyones wait.
