GT500 vs camaro ss is a retarded comparison. Wait till they make the Z28 with a supercharger then its a fair fight. Thats like going to a gun fight with a knife. Your not fully armed and ready yet.

Yes, they do. Such as those that make posts which lead people into thinking that a DOHC supercharged ironblock might somehow be lighter than an all aluminum pushrod design. By the way, the 5.4 comes in at roughly 600 lbs, the 4.6L from the mustang or the LS3 weigh a little over 400 lbs. I bring this up because ...

By the way, anyone can make lots of power with forced induction too ... 1000 hp 2.0L's ecotecs exist briefly

I still don't really get why having a supercharger on a lower displacement engine is unfair....as if having an extra 0.8 liters was somehow fair.

If you wanted fair, you would need two identical displacement engines with the same basic setup. Then it would be a matter of who could design the best flowing heads/intake, who had the best camshaft grinds, and who had the most optimal bore/stroke while maintaining the same displacement. Then we could approach the concept of fair.

Besides, what about all the people who think the new Caddy CTS-V and Corvette ZR-1 are so bada$$? They are compared to N/A BMW M5s, and N/A Exotics respectfully.... is it unfair for these two GM creations to run F/I while some of their direct competition does not? The answer is simply "No".

I'm with a few others, price and market segment is the main factor for comparison. While the Mustang GT500 does outprice the Camaro SS significantly, the two cars share a large part of the same target market.

1969 was as close to fair as it will ever get. Boss 302 vs Z28.

I dont know where you guys get your prices, to get a camaro ss to have the same features as a gt500 it costs 36k well you can pick up an 09 gt500 for 38-40k. that wil give you an engine that can handle over 1000hp without any issues, how much can the camaro handle before it blows? Or you can get a 10 gt500 for below msrp at almost any dealer, some even at invoice. I think its time everyone just accepts now matter how you look at it.....

GT500>Camaro SS

Or you can pick up a new camaro for 35K and put a blower on it and be between
42-45K. Problem solved if you are looking for a daily driver that puts out 550 to the wheels.

Umm - I preordered my 2SS/RS and it came to 35K. I had a dealer in town here try to sell me one for 45K but I found a dealership 4 hours away for MSRP. Karl Chevrolet in Iowa.

Bolded so you understand that W. Palm, Ft Lauderdale and Miami is not Iowa.

Also note you drove 4 hours to get a deal. That's just not right. Hell I would be driving dam near to Jacksonville or at least Orlando or Tampa...just to buy a car ????
