It stinks that the arms come raw, yet most of the pictures show them primer gray. You could have sprayed them IOM

The primer gray ones are made from a different metal which is prone to rust, hence the corrsive protective coating. There new ones are made out of stainless (which is a more costly resource and if the powder coated it the price of the trailing arms would increase) I did think about getting them powder coated but decided against it because it isn't something you can noticeably see unless you get under the car and figured I would spend my money elsewhere.

Yesterday I decided to install the Pfadt outer trailing arm bushings that came with the trailing arm package. I didn't install them when I originally put in the trailing arms because I ended up buying the wrong tool. When doing the bushing install I highly highly recommend you follow this great DIY by ssmike step by step and DON't deviate from it lol. I say this because at first I thought using a dremel would be easier to use to trim off the bushing and boy was I wrong. A fresh sharp blade is def the way to go. I also highly recommend getting two fresh blades one for each side. Probably the hardest part in removing the bushings was getting the tool started to get it to stay on with two hands. Once it was on though it bushed out the stock bushings so easily. One other problem I had during the install is when I finally had the bushings in (which went in super easy!) I couldn't get everything to line up, like the holes were way off! Go figure I had my parking break on! . Once I took it off all I had to do was jack up the LCA arm to get the holes lined up.

Today I went out to see how the bushings feel and I can def. say that made a huge difference, more than just the trailing arms. Now I may be crazy (likely) or not know what I am talking about (very likely) but it seems like when I get on it the car really goes and responds instantly! Here are some pics from the install. These bushings weigh 0.28lbs lighter than the stock ones so switched out the stock trailing arms and bushings with the pfadt saves a little under 1lb.

Lol hey I gotta continue to do work if I'm gonna keep my title next year at fest! Everyone who knows suspension more than me says you do not need an alignment after a trailing arm and bushing install. I will need one on my tie rods whenever I do them, which actually might be soon since I don't want to wait around until I save enough to buy coilovers.

Haha will try to!

Update:

Today I decided to finally weigh my car and see where it comes in at. Before I went over I filled it up with gas (not sure if that was a good idea or not). Well my car weighed in at 3720lbs (this is me not in the car, pretty sure. I say pretty sure because I pulled the car up on the scale got out and when I went into the office the woman already had the print out for me. However I don't think my car ways in at 3520lbs so....)

On the title of my car it says it weighs in at 3749lbs, I hope that is without gas considering all the weight I have taken off with various mods. If that is without gas I calculated that a full tank weighs about 114lbs so then without gas my car would weigh 3606lbs which actually comes close to the excel spreadsheet I have that keeps tally of all the weight I took off and added with various mods based on that orginal weight of the title +/- 5lbs. I do plan on some other weigh reduction mods and can't wait to see what my car weighs in at when I do those!.
