Just a quick little update since it has been awhile. Over the winter I have done a lot of research to see if I can meet my goal. For those of you who don't know my goal is to try and build a v6 camaro with the LLT engine so that it can run 12s in the 1/4 mile WHILE keeping it NA. For more info on this you can check out this thread here, lots of great info! http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=319468
With the closing of Pfadt's doors I ended up selling my pfadt toe rods and order a set of LSR Billet Aluminum Toe Rods. When I first came across the LSR ones I always wished I got them instead of pfadts since they are lighter. With pfadt closing a lot of people were trying to get their parts so I was lucky enough to get a buyer on the pfadt toe rods and buy the LSR. They are nice and shiny and light! Here is a quick pic. Next after seeing the amazing work that the Moreno Brothers have done to their car I really wanted a set of the custom front and rear crash bars they had made. So I was able to get a group buy together and have the purchase go through. By replacing both bars the weight loss should be about 24lbs. I know all the pros and cons to replacing the factory ones so please no need to post and remind me. Quick pic on how they look. They are a little dirty so might wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol before. From now I am on going to concentrate more on mods that will help me reach my goal and maybe do some exterior mods as well to change it up a bit. I also bought a second plenum cover and have been using a dremel on it to cut some things off and sand down area and once that is done I plan on sending it out to get powdercoated in IOM since the one I painted in IOM is starting to dull. |

Your going to have to search the threads 4 a auto. driver. So you can cut down on the weight of a real driver.

Kjkjr27's IOM Build [COTW 9/16/13]
Ok so this weekend was a pretty busy one had to get everything on before the track opened. On Saturday I installed my LSR toe rods. The install wasn't too bad started with the pass side figuring it would be easier since I didn't need to lower the subframe or that one, ended up taking me almost 2 hours. When I got to the driver side it took me a whole 45min which included lowering the subframe a couple inches and tightening it back up. I was expecting it to be hard to lower the subframe but it was quiet easy, just need a little muscle and a breaker bar to loosen the bolts. O yea managed to take off a whopping 1.7lbs with this install haha.
Sorry the install pics didn't come out so good, was hard to get good lighting and the flash didn't work too well. So on to Sunday. On Sunday I decided to install my coilovers myself. Took me quiet a while. I decided to start with the front first had a little trouble breaking loose some bolts but with a heatgun it was much easier. Now I set the gap in the coilovers to 1in so I could lower the car 1in but I must have set them wrong cause well it is def lower than a 1in drop haha but none-the-less I like it. Didn't take too many pictures because I just wanted to get this install done before it got too dark (managed to install the very last one as it was night haha) I'll have to take better pics of the car when it is sunny out so you can see the drop better. Better pic of the gaps: Front: Rear: The coilovers weighed about 19lbs less than the stock setup so yay more weight off. Still have a 17lb braille battery to install that I will prob do tomorrow. |

Thanks! I am hoping to set some new personal bests in the 1/4mile this season. We will see Haven't noticed it rides like it is on rails. Right now I have them set all the way to soft will have to play around with them the next couple days to get a good feel for how hard/soft I want them set. After I was done installing them whenever I would hit a bump I would hear a clunk but after I opened up the holes in my trunk for the adjusters a little more the sound went away, one of them was hitting the side of the whole I cut. |

Got around to installing my 17lb Braille battery today. It is so much lighter than stock, 28lbs lighter to be exact. Now for some pics
After I finished installing the battery I went and fill up my tank and then got my car weighed with me out. |

Two questions is the new battery vented? And Your car weighs 3600 full of gas with you out of it? Don't take this wrong. Yours is a 6 mine is an 8 and mine only weighs 3864.

That 3600 is without me and a full tank of gas. Did you get that weight number from the wiki cause I've found out the numbers that GM released about the weights of the car is the actual weight of the car with very little or no gas at all. Cause on the title of my car it says it weighed 3749 originally but when I removed almost over 120lbs the first time and got the car weighed with a full tank it was 3720. |

..............Wow that is one tiny battery......................Thanks for weighing everything. It will be a good reference for me now. As we have so many similar mods. I will have to compare apples to apples again.
3600 is not bad Good job on all the weight loss. ........
