removing cat convert

I have a friend that wants to remove his cat convert and wants to know if it will cause any issues beside the engine light? anyone done this and had any other problems. thanks for any helpful answers

Removing catalytic converters will not cause any mechanical problems, the CEL will come on to let you know your (missing) cats aren't working as well as they should. (obviously)

Assuming of course that you don't have nosy people leaving notes and vandalizing the car because of the extra pollution and noise.
