2010 Hennessey Carbon fiber GMPP body
Yesterday i was looking up parts for my own customized Camaro. I'm doing this for a school project to find out what it would cost to build my own 2010 Camaro v6 with my own personal touches like headlights wheels, hoods, spoilers. well i came across a site that sells the 2010 Hennessey Camaro Carbon Fiber body FOR 4 GRAND!!! thought you guys may be interested. But what i really want to know is how carbon fiber compares to the stock body for the Camaro. Is it tougher? i know its lighter, but by how much? And how does that effect things like 0-60 and cornering?
Heres the website http://northamericantuning.com/catal...roducts_id/885

according to the hennessey website, it is a hydrocarobn body kit
http://www.hennesseyperformance.com/fullcarbongfx.html Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe rather than the whole part being made of carbon fiber, it is a coating. Next to real carbon fiber, there is a clear difference in the look. Not sure about your other questions, but i dont think it will benefit your turning or handling; you would need to look into suspension parts. |

I just read the whole thing, it says full carbon fiber. but just to be sure i emailed Hennessey and asked if it had just a coating or if it was all carbon fiber.

for $4k it should be the real deal... however, if you look at the disclaimer for the RS spoiler, you will see that they require a core charge... if they were making 100% carbon fiber products, they wouldnt need a core because they would already have a mold...

well hydrocarbon is a sticker to look like carbon fiber. real carbon fiber is 5x as strong as steel but 2x as stiff. so if you were to hit it with lets say a hammer, it would crack. But i wonder if it were mixed with lets say titanium would it be hella strong...
